Urgent matters will continue to be dealt with as usual in Tendring over Christmas and New Year as most frontline services will be maintained for residents. Tendring District Council (TDC) will be delivering its essential front line services and will deal with emergencies over the Christmas period but will be closing its offices from 4pm on Friday December 22 until they reopen again fully from 8.45am on Tuesday January 2. Residents will be able to contact the Council's Control Centre on 01255 222022 for all emergencies and it will be available 24/7. Last year in Essex, our team of trained volunteers and staff supported over 3,000 people affected by crime across the county. We are looking for reliable volunteers with great listening skills, who have 4 hours or more to spare a week, to join our team in Essex. Working in partnership with school recycling specialists Bag2School, the School Recycling Competition is taking place in January 2018 will offer £0.40 per kilogram of clothes that registered schools collect through the month. This means that one tonne of clothing could earn your school £400! The school that has collected the highest amount of good quality clothing per pupil by the end of January 2018 will also receive a special prize of a free textile workshop in addition to money raised. The Little Pumpkins Children's Christmas Appeal 2017

In conjunction with the Manningtree & District Food Bank are appealing to the strength of the community to support their Christmas appeal. Donated items are for Children from our own community this Christmas. Items can be handed in at either of their settings in Lawford or Bradfield and will be delivered to Manningtree and District Food Bank on Friday 15th December 2017 in readiness for their packing on 17th December 2017 and then passed onto families in our community who are in crisis or just need some extra help.
