Schools Recycling Competition
Monday 20th November 2017
Is your school interested in raising some much-needed cash? Why not get involved in Recycle for Essex's School Recycling Competition?
Working in partnership with school recycling specialists Bag2School, the School Recycling Competition is taking place in January 2018 will offer £0.40 per kilogram of clothes that registered schools collect through the month. This means that one tonne of clothing could earn your school £400!
The school that has collected the highest amount of good quality clothing per pupil by the end of January 2018 will also receive a special prize of a free textile workshop in addition to money raised.
The competition is taking place to help spread the word that there is value in our clothes; whether that is in selling good quality clothing or recycling or donating textiles to charity shops.
Registration is open now. To take part, please contact Bag2School on 01609 780 222 or register your school on the website - http://uk.bag2school.com. Bag2School will arrange to collect clothes at the end of January and Recycle for Essex will announce the winner shortly after.
Once registered, Bag2School will arrange a mutually agreed date to collect the bags, meaning schools don't need to worry about storing clothes before collection. The Bag2School website also has helpful promotional materials to help you publicise the clothes collection to students and parents.
If you have any questions before registering, please contact Carla.Johnson@essex.gov.uk in November, or January only.
